You will never have this day with your children again. Tomorrow, they'll be a little older than they were today. This day is a gift. Breath and notice. Smell and touch them. Study their faces and little feet and pay attention. Enjoy today mamma, it will be over before you know it.

Patience, mama, patience!

I have been trying very hard not to be the paranoid mama. So far, Cohen has hit all of his "babycenter" milestones right on time, or even a little ahead of schedule-which is great for relieving the previously mentioned paranoia. However, up until a few days ago, we had come to a major feat of baby strength and he was completely uninterested. Sitting up while on his tummy (how else is he supposed to learn to crawl??). I mean, he literally could not have cared less. The kid wants to be on the move CONSTANTLY.  He either wants to be rolling around on his tummy or back or standing/jumping in Mom and Dads arms or using the exersaucer/jumper. So needless to say that  I was thrilled to see that he is finally enjoying being on his tummy and is now trying to CRAWL!!!

His next big milestone will be sitting up on his own, which he is soo close to mastering without falling flat on his little face. I know that he WILL at some point learn to sit up, as I do not think his kindergarten teacher will allow him to simply roll around on the floor of her classroom while she teaches abc's, and I cannot imagine a middle school teacher would allow an otherwise healthy child to sit "assisted" by a boppy every day. Goodness knows that I would love to follow him through the halls of high school "bully-blocking" at every turn, but I don't think that having your Mom sit behind you and hold you up during class is the best way to earn cool points.

Cohen is 5 months old today and I just know that he will love all the wonderful, fun things he can do once he can sit on his own and crawl around- I'm so ready to watch him!

Patience, mama, patience.

5 Months!!

Yeah, this is probably the last time we take a picture in the chair!

Finally enjoying his tummy time!

My two favorite boys:)

Blurry pic, but sooo sweet!

Where is daddy's mouth???

Look closely at this picture. Cohen wants Oscar to play with him so bad! He laughs at him all the time, but Oscar is just not interested:(

Today was his best effort yet towards crawling!! I'm a proud mama hen!

I have a little  video clip of cutie trying to crawl this afternoon, but sadly I am just too tired to post it! Check back tomorrow in the p.m. and I should have it posted:)

At four months you are...

-babbling and making funny noises which daddy and I think is just about the cutest thing ever!
-soo close to sitting up on your own without falling over

-loving picking things up and putting them in your mouth ( I don't know that this will ever end!)
-disliking being strapped into things, ie highchairs, car seats, strollers. Which is tough since you have to be in these things, well, kind of a lot.

-trying very hard to stick those little feet in your mouth.
-loving these past few weeks in your exersuacer!

-teething!
-reaching out for my mouth every time I lean in really close to talk to you

-finally back on track with your daily naps (mommy likes those 2 and 3 hour naps that we take together on the weekends!)
-having so many human emotions-it's so wild watching you grow up

-eating 5 times a day-  3 "meals" and 4 bottles
-smiling at everyone you meet when momma takes you out on errands. Momma is making lots of "random" friends!

-the best thing I could have hoped for!

Why???

Why child are you awake at 3 a.m.? Why?

You never do this.

I always brag about the fact that you never do this.

But you are so stinkin cute that I can't bring myself to leave you in your crib and let you fuss.

Softy.

Let's don't do this again, ok?

Your mommy is very sleepy and you are cutting into my bedtime sleep fest!

(In case you haven't guessed it, Cohen has woken up at exactly 3 a.m. sharp three times this past week and wanted to eat. Needless to say Tyler and I were VERY worried that this might become a regular habit! Thankfully, he is back on track! We will blame it on his tummy virus....not on our parenting skills:))

Momma is the one who should be tired...I did all the walkin'!!

Sooo Curious

Looks like someone is ready for night night!

We could use this for his baby picture in his Senior yearbook!

Nothing like Cohen and Momma time...this is the best part of my evening!

So cute when he grabs at my face;)

Food, Glorious food!

Cohen is thoroughly enjoying his baby food right now! I am very proud of how well he adapted to it  and how he is in such a better mood now that he has something more substantial on his tummy! Some of his favorites are of course bananas (what else would a little monkey man eat?!), butternut squash, apples, and rice cereal!  I am making most of his food myself, but still using some store bought on the fly! We have also introduced juice as a new culinary treat! He is a big fan of it! So much has changed over the past month! He is no longer swaddled at night, cutie is rolling all over the place,  he coo's and laughs all the time, his feet have become his newest discovery, and he is grabbing for everything! Just the other day I was making him a bottle and what did he do??? Pulled in over of course and got milk everywhere!
Cutie got his 4 month old shots last Friday....and oh my, that was an experience. I am not going to sugar coat and say that he loved his shots and that he was totally fine once I picked him up....I mean the kid did get stuck four times with a needle!!  He screamed as if the nurse was trying to murder him and then proceeded to scream from the doctors office all the way home until he finally wore himself out! It's ok Cohen, even big boys cry sometimes!  I think he has picked up his dad's habit of hating shots! He was SUPER grouchy the entire evening but was back to being his sweet self the next day.

Tyler and I are so enjoying Cohen and seeing his little personality develop! He brings a smile to our face and warms are hearts...we are two very lucky parents!
