You will never have this day with your children again. Tomorrow, they'll be a little older than they were today. This day is a gift. Breath and notice. Smell and touch them. Study their faces and little feet and pay attention. Enjoy today mamma, it will be over before you know it.

M-I-C-K-E-Y....M-O-U-S-E!!!!

The American Cancer Society Hosted a Character breakfast at Mint Restruant this past Saturday.

I love things like this because it's a win win for everyone!

You pay for a ticket and get to have a great breakfast while hanging out with Disney Characters.

All the while, proceeds go to help with cancer research!

Why don't they do things like this more often??

We would surely be in attendance if they did!

My sweet Momma bought tickets for me and Cohen to go with her.

I must say I was a little nervous about how he would react to a life size Mickey Mouse.

You never know with kids this age.

But to my surprise he absolutely loved them!!

The smile on his face was precious and absolutely priceless!

His favorite was Minnie Mouse! He gave her hugs and kisses and even let her hold him!

I know my mom enjoyed being part of the experience!

Gosh, why did I not get it on video???

Oh well, I think you can get a feel for his excitement by the look on his face:)

Just munchin' on some watermelon....

ooohhh Daisy!!

Yay!!

Donald!

Let me shake your hand!!

Mickey really got his attention:)

Look at that sweet face

The chocolate chip pancakes were a nice touch to the breakfast!

We enjoyed the grins and giggles oh so much:)

I think a trip to Disney World in the near future is a great idea....hehehe!

Bubbles Bubbles everywhere!

Water for life

Every morning on my way to work I listen to KLOVE.

Every morning.

I can't get the day off to a good start without it.
It's my personal time with God.

This is when I do my "talks" with him.

Even though he does not verbally respond....I know he hears me.

Anyway, a few weeks ago the radio station was asking its listeners to donate water filters to families in Africa through a company called Compassion.

For $50 you can make sure that a family has clean drinking water for a year....a year!!!

This really struck a nerve in me.

I normally don't get involved with outside fundraisers other than my own church, but I felt like I had to help in some way.

What if it were me in that situation?? No clean water to drink?? No clean water for my family to drink??

Sometimes I complain so much about petty things. If I go too long without eating ( I am talking 2 or 3 hours tops), I consider myself STARVING!!

Get a grip! These families go days without food or water!! Who am I to complain?? I have everything I need and more!!

So I felt like I should take what God has blessed me with to help someone else.

I will never know what family received the filter that I purchased...but I know this...

the name on the "from" section on the box was not The O'Neal's...

it was purchased in Jesus' name.

And that's all they need to know:)

If you are interested in donating, click on the link below.

You won't be sorry to did:)

I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink...Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me. - Matthew 25:35, 40

Summer Yummer!

I have gone too long without posting one of these.

As of now Cohen is in a picky eater phase....grrrr!

So, we try to feed him the good stuff but in the end we wind up giving him something that we know he will eat instead of forcing him.

Oh well, what are ya gonna do???

He tried to eat the okra pictured in this post, but after a few bites it wound up on the floor!

Who says you can't let a 1 year old help you in the kitchen??

He did the shakin' to coat the okra.

Yes, the okra that he didn't eat.

Menu:
Grilled Chicken (I actually grilled it myself!)

Fresh butter beans

Fried Okra

I mean, what's not to love about this meal??
