Summer!!!

I have become a lazy blogger! Since my summer break has started, we have been full throttle on trying to enjoy ALL things summer related. So therefore I have not done many indoor activities, including blogging:(

But, I have been good about taking pictures of all the fun things we have accomplished over the past 5 days. And I must say, we have has us a good ole time so far!

Enjoy the pics!!!

Nothing like grilling out and having a picnic in the backyard!

Hanging out in the outfield at Trustmark park!

CoCo is looking like such a big boy!

He was bound and determined to climb the hill in the outfield....and he did....over and over and over!!

Cohen and Caleb at the Rez! Caleb has become his buddy!

I was very surprised at how much he enjoyed riding the speed boat!

The wind gave him a mohawk!

Cohen and G!

That's how ya do it!

Cohen and Nana

This was HIS chair!

I discovered that our child LOOOVVVEEESS the water hose! I am pretty sure that we are going to make a nightly tradition of this! Play in the water hose and then straight to the tub!!

He can go up and down this slide by himself!

Notice the shard of grass on his chin:)

This sand box is possibly one of the best purchases we have made. I have now come to the realization that Cohen is very much a tactile learner. He loves to touch and feel things in order to figure them out.
I am a firm believer that at child should be able to discover things and very much be hands on! Even if they get a little dirty sometimes:)

Bubbas.....(bubbles!)

And..... Coming soon!!!  I am going to begin a new blog about something that I have been working on lately! I was inspired by a fellow blogger that I follow!

Beach Bum

A few weeks ago we took our yearly trip with Grammy and Pops to Orange Beach.
I know I always look forward to this yearly retreat because of the fun and fellowship that we get to have with my in-laws. This would include the grandparents of course, Jason, Rachel and my sweet nephew Cooper! I always love getting these two boys together. They are finally starting to actually acknowledge each other's presence!! Before they would just kinda go their own separate ways and not think much of it. But after a few days together I realized something...

these boys may be trouble!!!

I think it is safe to say the expression "Monkey see, monkey do" will definitely be used a lot between the two of them!

These boys are going to be best buddies...

I can just tell!

I had a great vacation but had a hard time enjoying myself to the fullest.

On Wednesday of our vacation, I was unbelievable saddened by the devastation of the tornado's that swept through the southern part of our nation. I have never seen anything like that and my heart just ached for these people who had lost everything...including loved ones. It was so hard to enjoy a vacation when you know other's are enduring possibly their worst times. I think that is God's way of making me aware of just how good I have it.

It just made me all the more thankful for every day that the Lord has blessed me with and to not take anything for granite.

(Wow...I went deep on that one...hope you had your scuba gear on!)

But, this experience helped me to enjoy the most simple part of a vacation....spending time with the ones you love!

Who needs the beach when you have quality cabinets to play in??!!

Stinker!

Our little beach buddy!

Nothin' like a little snack time at the beach

Cohen would not go anywhere near the water! I mean literally terrified of it!

I sure hope he grows out of this phase:)

It's not Easter yet....

Easter comes when winter ends, when everything seems new.
We see buds on trees, baby chicks, and little bunnies too.

But it's not Easter yet......

Easter comes when pretty eggs are made and hidden for you.

But it's not Easter yet.....

Easter comes when Peter Cottontail leaves a basket full of goodies at your door.

But it's not Easter yet...

Then one special Sunday we go to church to pray, we thank God who gave us Jesus who lives with us each day.

Jesus died and rose again to show God's love for you.
So raise your hands and sing with praise to show you love him too!!

Now it's Easter!

(This came from an Easter book that his Grammy and Pops gave Cohen. It is simply put and straight to the point!)

As Cohen grows up, we want to make sure that we instill in him the true meaning behind the holidays that we celebrate.

It is not about hunting or dying eggs..

not about what the Easter bunny gave you....

But about what GOD has given us...

His one and only Son...

Our blessed redeemer...

Lord of All!

That is the best gift we could ever receive!!

(After church, and only after church,  you can hunt the Easter eggs!!!)

Coco loved his chirpy chick

One in each hand...that's how ya do it!

The Easter bunny left a basket at Nana and G's house!

Sweet sugars for his little lamb!

He was not wild about the blue stringy stuff

How blessed we are with our family! When we deserved it the least, he gave us the best!

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter!

Birthday Boy!!!

I can't believe that my little coco is 1! I also can't believe that it has taken me this long to post pics!

Blame it on the day job....

I do work ya know!

Anyway, Cohen's b-day turned out just as planned...

by this I mean....

no temper tantrums...

thrown by Cohen or Mommy...

no melt downs...

and no fighting over who got to play with what toy!

Our little visitors  had a lot of fun with Cutie and his gifts...

which is fine by me...

how are they supposed to know that it was not their party as well!!

After the party my child napped for a solid 3 hours!!

I just wish I could have napped with him.

Let's just say that I will be THRILLED that his birthday will not be on Easter weekend next year!!

Enjoy the pics!

This was one tired little fella!!

Thank you to all of our wonderful family and friends who came to help us celebrate!

Love
