1) ALL Smiles! While my sweet mother babysat for me on Wednesday, she caught one of the very first BIG grins that sweet Cohen has ever produced before! Of course she was only mildly ecstatic to call and brag about it to me on my way home! In my mind I am trying to tell myself that she could not possibly have gotten the first smile ahead of me..I mean I am his mother and spend more time with him than anyone!! I tried to tell her that it was probably one of those grins that babies do when they have gas..no actual reaction from some sort of enjoyment or excitement. Boy was I wrong. When I got home she showed me the video of this so call smile....Oh My Goodness!! When I saw it my heart melted!! It was the first insight of many more smiles to come!! It was the most precious thing that I had seen him do so far! I must say that I was a little jealous that she got the first grin and I didn't. But if any of you know my mother, she has a very bubbly personality and could bring a smile any one's face! So it does not surprise me that she got the first one!!
2)Roll over! Roll Over! This sounds like something you might say to a dog, but I chant it to my son! We have really been working on tummy time lately and so far our biggest accomplishment has been lifting the head without getting his little nose stuck face down! On Thursday, Cohen went beyond the norm and decided that he was tired of hearing me say "Roll over, Roll over, you can do it!" and he finally just went on and did it! Now, I realize that it may be a while before he is able to do this again, but I am putting it down as one of his first big accomplishments!
3) He is discovering his own little voice! When he is in the mood he will just talk and talk to me! By this I of course mean that he is making little cooing sounds, along with some sporadic little outbursts!!
4) Cohen is beginning to focus much better than before. Now when I put him in his bouncy seat or swing, he is actually checkin' some things out!
Finally got that hair to lay down!
Ready to sail away to sweet dreams!
C is for Crocodile!!

Can you smile for momma??!!!
Almost got it!!
I love reading your new momma blogs. It reminds me to stop and smell the flowers and appreciate all the firsts that Jack and Kate are doing, because with two (and one on the way) it's easy to get wrapped up in the rat race and not pause to see how much they are growing and changing every day.
ReplyDeleteCohen is just precious! Keep the stories coming.
Wow! That sweet baby is so flippin' adorable! HIS HAIR IS LAYING/LYING/LAIN..(I never know which one to use) down! Precious. Reading your blog makes me want another sweet baby! I promise it keeps getting better and better. Each milestone will be just as precious as the first. So glad you are enjoying this special time together!
